Welcome

The Faith Cause has been organised by Kim Poulton, mother of

Faith Hannah Poulton born sleeping on 23rd October 2015,full term plus 9 days.

The Faith Cause has been set up because we don't want our loss to become another's.

Our Mission

  • To raise awareness of the possible risks of group B Strep in pregnancy.

  • To promote sensitive testing for Group B Strep carriage, currently the ECM test at around 35-37 weeks of pregnancy.

Other countries which offer senstitive testing for GBS carriage during pregnancy include Australia, Argentina, Belgium, Canada, Chile, Czech Republic, Dubai, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Italy, Japan, Kenya, Lithuania, New Zealand, Norway, Oman, Poland, Spain, Slovenia, Switzerland, Taiwan and the USA.

Until the NHS provide routine testing for GBS we would enourage all expectant mothers to be tested privately and if found to be colonised, offered antibiotics in labour.
